Featured Project: Central Park Elementary STEM
Highlights
This school cabinets and casework project is very special to us: The Central Park Elementary School is just minutes from our facility and our employees’ children and grandchildren will learn and explore in one of the first Elementary STEM schools in the country. This unique project was brought to us by Stonecreek Interior Systems. The architects for the project were French Associates and the Construction Manager was Barton Malow. The size of the project is 86,000 sqf at a total construction cost of over $17M.
Central Park Elementary School opened its doors to around 800 students on September 5th, 2017. It offers high-quality, globally-focused elementary education in all academic areas. This includes reading, writing, science, math, and social studies. It prepares students to be active participants in a lifelong journey of learning, both in the classroom and in the world. Central Park Elementary is all about flexible learning spaces. Students will develop collaboration and problem-solving skills in an environment that encourages exploration. Case Systems is proud to have contributed the school cabinets and casework throughout all areas of the school. The concept of the construction is to keep as many details as possible exposed providing practical exploration and learning opportunities. Signage, graphics and inspirational quotes support the STEM concept. Through engaging and relevant curriculum that extends beyond the classroom walls, students will improve their understanding of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), as well as develop problem solving and collaboration skills in indoor maker spaces and outdoor learning spaces. The outdoor learning spaces will provide hands-on, project-based learning in science, technology, engineering and math for students.
