Featured Project: Olathe West High School

Highlights

Case Systems is proud to have contributed the school casework for the new Olathe West High School near Kansas City. The incredible state-of-the-art project was brought to us by our dealer Carroll Seating Company in Kansas City. Olathe West High School spans 375,000 square feet covering three stories and four wings. Starting out with 850 freshmen, sophomores and juniors, the facility allows the school to expand to over 2,000 students in the future.

The large open Commons Area can hold around 420 students and flows into the main library. This stunning space features a wall of reclaimed wood along with a green wall and supports the theme of the school’s Green Tech Academy. Students will learn new green technologies and maintain the school’s green roof. Olathe West focuses on the use of technology and open, modular spaces, with modern school casework to promote collaboration among students. The centrally located commons and library connect the entire building. In addition, students have four smaller libraries close to each learning community. One of Olathe West’s specialties is their Public Safety Academy. At the entrance to the academy future firefighters, police officers and first responders will walk by one of the last ten pieces of the World Trade Center that the school was able to acquire with the support of the City of Olathe.
